Grandma’s 👵🏻 Apple🍏Pie

My sweet Grandma used to make loads of these apple pies around the holidays. So does my Aunt June. My mom and I decided to make a bunch this year. With a few calls to my Aunt June and my mom’s memory of her mom making these, I think we got these exact. This apple pie is simple and perfect in every way. We have several in the freezer for Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve. I can’t wait to dig in…

Homemade Chicken Pot Pie(Slow Cooker Version)

This chicken pot pie would be perfect to serve on Thanksgiving if you are only 2 or 4 people, especially if you swapped the chicken for turkey. You don’t need a big assortment of food, just a dish like this made with love.

Thanksgiving 🍁 Menu

Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays. The weather in Florida has finally cooled down. We can keep the windows and doors open so the fresh air flows through the house. Once we start cooking, the familiar smells waft through the air. There really is so much to be thankful for.

Aunt Esther’s Potato 🥔 Pancakes

Aunt Esther and Uncle Joe lived in this cozy two family house in Brooklyn. Before we even got to the door we would smell the potato pancakes cooking. I love taking a traditional family recipe and giving it a modern twist. These gluten free potato pancakes did not disappoint!

Dump Cake

Summer always makes me think of pie. Two of my favorites are, Sweet Cherry Pie and Strawberry Apple Pie. I was looking for inspiration on Pinterest one day and came across Dump Cakes. Don’t let the name discourage you from making this. Knowing that I can dump ingredients in a bowl, bake it and serve a delicious, sweet dessert makes me love it even more.

Stuffed Pepper Stir Fry

I love stuffed peppers, but it is a big job. I usually like to roast the peppers a little before I even stuff them so they are soft, otherwise my family only eats what’s in the pepper. So, all that work for them to pick around the actual pepper. Hence, the Stuffed Pepper Stir Fry! It is much easier than the traditional stuffed peppers. It is perfect for a quick weeknight dinner.

Ruggable

This is a true story…

I had been looking for rugs for my home for several years. I am a bit of a neat freak, so when we had two dogs I could never keep the rugs clean. I would buy them and unless they were small, they couldn’t be cleaned. So, after a couple of months I threw them out. Unfortunately, both of our pups passed away. And my search for rugs continued.

“Alexa, add eggs to my list.”

Let’s face it, you can usually find me in the kitchen. I am always cooking and my hands are either filled with food or are wet! One thing I love is that the Alexa Show is basically hands free. I can easily state, “Alexa, add eggs to my list.”

Rainy Day Activities

I always read my mom’s blog and decided I wanted to write one for her. It’s been raining for weeks so I figured rainy day activities would be a good one.  This is what I recommend…

Ouidad

Ouidad was nice enough to let me try two of their new products before they even hit the shelves!  This is really exciting to me especially since I am such a fan of Ouidad’s products.
