I love recipes passed on from one generation to another! I’ve shared many recipes from my family and friends. There’s some people that you just know have some really good recipes in their recipe box. One of those people is my sister Ali’s mother in law. She loves feeding her family and has loads of recipes that I have been dying to share. One of them is this Make Ahead Holiday Eggnog. It is creamy, delicious and sweet! You literally throw the ingredients in the blender and store in the fridge until ready to serve. It makes 3 quarts and is perfect to bring to someone’s house for the holidays. It can be served at a Christmas tree decorating get together, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and even New Year’s Eve. This is one of those recipes you should be filing away…
Make Ahead Holiday Eggnog
Ingredients
*8 eggs
*3 cups of confectioners sugar
*1 and 1/2 quarts of heavy cream
*1 cup of half and half or milk
*1 and 1/2 cups of dark rum
Directions
The directions are this simple…Blend ingredients together. Allow to sit 48 hours before serving. You can serve it over ice, sprinkle with nutmeg and enjoy.**If you don’t want the rum, just leave it out. I put everything in the blender first except the rum. I put that aside for my kids. Then I added the rum, blended again and put it in a separate container.**
